I was skeptical at first about how well this bear spray would work, having never used one before. I'm an avid hiker and wanted some peace of mind on my solo trips, but I wasn't sure if this Trail Boss could really reach 35 feet as promised. After testing it out in an open field (being careful not to aim at anything living!), I was impressed by the powerful spray that came out of this compact canister. It definitely has range.

One thing I noticed was that the safety pin is a bit stiff, which made it tricky to remove with gloved hands. It's not a deal-breaker, but if you're planning on using it while wearing gloves, be prepared for a little extra effort. Overall though, the Trail Boss Bear Spray has given me confidence on my hikes, knowing I've got protection against unexpected encounters.
